After soundchecks, we wondered whether anyone was going to turn up, and all was a bit silent until I offered to lend my 'Drive Time with Lucy' CD-R to the sound guy (gosh, what a life saver), this time not including so many power ballads. Members of the public started to arrive not long after, which was wonderful to see, sometimes I like people. We were first to take to the stage. I managed to overcome the problem I had with arm-ache following sound check, and we proceeded to play the same set-list for the past two years, which two slightly more recent songs. Rob's dancing was on form, my cowbell stayed in tune, and Graham's keyboard worked, so overall it went reasonably well! Although Rob's banter didn't last as long as it normally does, this time only discussing two reasons I have previously been sacked from jobs (vomiting, and wearing a Fever Fever t-shirt to work*).
Second up, JOYOUS! Joyous are great and Joyous arrive on time. They play future chart-topping hits and sweat loads (a mix of terminal boogy and bright lights). More dance moves, more energy, better musicicans, very punctual - you should most definitely check 'em out.
Last, but not least - Fever Fever. Playing a gig with a hangover is a chore, and probably easier said than done. Although, you wouldn't have noticed (I wish we were real rockstars). Fever Fever will never fail to impress, their songs are amazing, they're extremely lovely people and they make you dance when you're sober. (Proven fact - Rob very rarely dances to live bands). We're very, very excited about Out of Step in July.
The evening was a huge success and the vibez were amazing. Many thanks, Arthur.
On a different note, we have three new tracks up on Myspace, courtesy of Nick & Laura at Guildford University. We're very pleased with them - and we would be so very grateful if you could take a listen and give us your (preferrably positive) feedback. AND, if you email me, I'll send them to you, just because we want more Last.fm scrobbles.
